Technical Committee on the Open Source Ecosystem

About Technical Committee on the Open Source Ecosystem (TC-OSE)

TC-OSE is a technical committee chaired by Boris Murmann. Its charter is to increase SSCS’ visibility as a key player in democratizing IC design and bootstrapping the open source ecosystem for the benefit of our members. Specific responsibilities include:

1.       Operating the SSCS’ Platform for IC Design Outreach (PICO) program. This includes a variety of dynamically varying program components such as the annual Chipathon event and Code-a-Chip travel grant awards.

2.       Developing a vision and plan for publishing open-source work at SSCS publication venues and creating seed workshops at conferences.

3.       Curating best practices and open-source design templates for the benefit of our members.

4.       Collaborating with key players in the open source space (such as the CHIPS Alliance) and teaming with other societies & councils (for example, IEEE CASS, IEEE CEDA, ACM SIGDA).
