IEEE SSCS Student Shirt Design Contest

The winning design will be made into a shirt and distributed to all SSCS Student & Graduate Student Members at ISSCC 2027.

• This year’s theme is in line with the 2027 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) Theme: “Trusted Sustainable Silicon Intelligence from Edge to Cloud.”
• ISSCC is in its 74th year as the flagship conference for solid-state circuit design. ISSCC promotes and shares new circuit and system ideas with the potential to advance the state of the art in integrated-circuit (IC) and system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This year’s conference theme highlights how circuit and system research and development enable secure, energy-efficient, and trustworthy intelligent IC and SoC innovations across the entire computing continuum—from ultra-low power edge devices and sensors to high-performance cloud infrastructure.
• Your Task: Design a shirt that illustrates Trusted Sustainable Silicon Intelligence from Edge to Cloud!

The contest is open only to IEEE SSCS Student and Graduate Student Members. A valid member ID will be required for entry submission.

• File Size: Each entry must be smaller than 15MB.

• Format: All submissions must be in PDF format. Any other file format will not be accepted.

• Artwork Requirements: Submitters MUST provide .eps vector art with fonts converted to outlines.

• Colors: The base of the shirt will be a grey shade, so your design background should be clear. You may use UP TO FIVE additional colors for graphics/text (please use five or fewer).

• Placement: Please ONLY use the BACK of the shirt for your design. The official SSCS Logo will be placed on the front.

• Required Slogan: The following slogan must appear somewhere on your design:

***Originality: By entering, contestants warrant that each submission is their own original creation and that no entry infringes on another person’s rights.***

• Entry Limit: During the Contest Period, Entrants may submit up to three (3) separate entries.

• Note: Entries sent via email will not be accepted or considered. All entrants are required to read the official Contest Terms and Conditions.

• IEEE SSCS has EXCLUSIVE rights to reproduce and use the winning design.
• Entries become the property of IEEE SSCS and none will be returned or acknowledged except as provided herein.

All entries will be judged by a panel of SSCS Administrative Committee Members based on the following criteria:

• Originality: 25%

• Creativity: 25%

• Appropriateness to the Contest Theme: 20%

• Public Appeal: 30% (as determined by public comments received)

🏆 One (1) Grand Prize Winner

• A $1,000.00 cash prize, which can be used to further your academic development, pay for conference registration, or cover travel and lodging expenses for attending professional conferences.
• Three (3) custom shirts displaying the winning design.
• Featured recognition as the grand prize winner on the IEEE SSCS webpage, social media channels, and the SSCS magazine.

🥈 Second and Third Place Finalists

• A $500.00 cash prize each, which can be used to further academic development, pay for conference registration, or cover travel and lodging expenses for attending professional conferences.
• One (1) custom shirt displaying the winning design.
