Panelist #1: Prof. Kea-Tiong Tang
Kea-Tiong (Samuel) Tang received the B.S. degree from National Taiwan University in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1998 and 2001, respectively. From 2001 to 2006, he was a Senior Electrical Engineer with Second Sight Medical Products, Inc. He joined National Tsing Hua University in 2006, where he is currently a full Professor. His research focuses on bio-inspired learning chips, electronic noses, and biomedical implantable devices. A recipient of the NSTC Outstanding Research Award, Dr. Tang has served as IEEE CAS Chapter Chair of Taipei Section, Chair of IEEE Taipei Section, a Board of Governor of CAS Society, Representative of Region 10, and the Vice President – Regional Activities and Membership of IEEE CASS. He is the current Vice President – Conferences of IEEE CASS. He was elected for SSCS AdCom member for 2026-2028. Dr. Tang is a Fellow of IEEE.
Panelist #2: Prof. Bokyung Kim
Bokyung Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at North Carolina State University. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University in 2024. Prior to joining NC State, she was an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on memory-centric design with full-stack co-optimization with broad experience in hardware design, spanning different hardware levels through device modeling, mixed-signal VLSI, architecture/system design, and real implementations in silicon. She received the Best Paper Award from the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design in 2025 and was a selected fellow of the IEEE Laureate Forum in 2026, ACM Heidelberg Laureate Forum Young Researchers in 2024, and EECS Rising Stars in 2023. She serves as a member of Board of Governors in the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, an Associate Editor TCAS-II, as a Secretary of the Machine-Learning CAS Technical Committee.
